A Collector’s Edition Timed with the Vernal Portal
This Easter, Brooklyn-based artist Claire Price releases Twin Hare — a limited-edition fine art print available for just five days. The work merges old-world craftsmanship with a distinctly contemporary gaze, drawing from both personal ritual and art historical lineage.
Shot on film using her Leica inside Paris’ Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature, the original photograph captures a taxidermy hare — poised mid-air, both kinetic and suspended. The image was hand-printed in the darkroom as a silver gelatin print, then tinted by hand in subtle, organic hues.
Price mirrored the hare diagonally, transforming the composition into a talismanic emblem reminiscent of a playing card — a nod to duality, fortune, and symmetry. The repetition recalls the movement studies of Eadweard Muybridge, while the layered surface treatments pay quiet homage to Robert Rauschenberg.
The result is a work that feels like a spell: ephemeral, symbolic, and rich with texture. Available in two archival sizes, Twin Hare will be released as a timed edition from April 18 to 22 — and once the window closes, it will not return.
